Sensei Labs Wins Canadian Comet Competition for Enterprise Software Startups
Collaborative work management platform developer to represent Canada at finals and compete for global title and $1MM grand prize
TORONTO, ON – December 18, 2019 – Sensei Labs, a developer of data-driven, people-centric workflow solutions, has been named the winner of the Canadian Comet Competition by Ingram Micro Cloud and Microsoft Canada. The Toronto startup beat out 150 enterprise software developers who had applied, vying for the Canadian title and $100,000 USD in go-to-market funding. Next, it will represent Canada at the International Comet Competition at Ingram Micro’s Cloud Summit in May 2020 and compete for the $1 million USD grand prize.
“We’re grateful to Ingram Micro Cloud and Microsoft for supporting enterprise software developers with this initiative and we’re looking forward to representing Canada on the global stage at the International Comet Competition in May,” said Jay Goldman, co-founder and CEO of Sensei Labs. “The startup landscape in Canada is very strong, so it’s a great honor to have been chosen as the inaugural Canadian Comet Competition champions.”
“The Canadian Comet Competition brought together some of our country’s brightest tech talent,” said Greg Onoprijenko, Director of Cloud, Ingram Micro Canada. “Sensei Labs clearly demonstrated their innovation, thought leadership, and commitment to the IT channel, and gave us confidence that we were aligning with a company that is destined for greater success.”
The Comet Competition plays a significant role in Ingram Micro Cloud’s mission to accelerate innovation and empower the world’s future problem solvers to grow and tackle businesses’ biggest problems. In-person judging events are concluding in 16 international cities this month and will feature one winner and three runners up, all of whom receive significant go-to-market funding, training, and resources to grow and will join Ingram Micro Cloud at Cloud Summit 2020 in Miami Beach, Florida, May 12-14. They will face a panel of judges and will be evaluated on their vision for the future, potential in their channel, and ecosystem readiness. The competition is supported in part by Microsoft as part of a collaboration between Microsoft’s Microsoft for Startups group and Ingram Micro Cloud, announced in July.
